1. Personal Bias. 1st Post Due by Day 3. Prior to preparing your response, review the Understanding Our Biases and Assumptions video.
• Describe a scenario in which the patient’s beliefs were contradictory to your own.
• Describe how you put aside your personal beliefs and biases to deliver quality patient care.
• What recommendations from the readings and/or video would you implement in order to provide culturally competent care?
Your initial Personal Beliefs and Biases post should be 250-300 words and utilize at least one scholarly source from the University Library, cited in APA format, to justify your choices.
Guided Response: Respond to two classmates by addressing how you would assist a colleague with the scenario described. From the nurse manager role, discuss the organizational policies that are in place, or that should be in place, that may assist you in providing treatment or managing cultural traditions, practices, and customs that are different from your own beliefs.
Provide a substantive response (minimum of 100 words) for each of your replies. List at least one scholarly source, cited in APA format as outlined, to support your rationale.
