Part 2: Academic Resources and Strategies

Academic Success and Professional Development Plan Part 2: Academic Resources and Strategies

Clearly identify and accurately describe in detail at least three academic resources or strategies that can be applied to the MSN program.

There are three academic strategies that can be applied to the MSN program. Part 2: Academic Resources and Strategies. The first strategy is time management. This is perhaps the most important strategy is it ensures that enough time is allocated for the prioritized activities thus avoiding cases of lateness. It includes creating schedules and to-do lists, prioritizing activities and tasks, using planners, and setting goals. The second strategy is communication with the school fraternity to include instructors and students. This is important as they act as a learning resource. It includes addressing others with the proper title, establishing rapport, respecting time, using the right communication channels, using proper language, and being clear and concise (Frith & Clark, 2013). The third strategy is adopting the right test taking approach. It is very easy to leave a test with a feeling of having underperformed. To guard against this, it will be important to consult others about the test details and prepare adequately (Oermann, 2015).

The three strategies are useful in successfully completing the MSN program.

Clearly identify and accurately describe in detail at least three professional resources that can be applied to success in the nursing practice in general or in a specialty.

Three resources have been identified as important for nursing career development. Firstly, the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA). This organization offers career development support to student nurses to include information about career pathways and networking opportunities. Secondly, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) Part 2: Academic Resources and Strategies. This organization funds nursing research and education opportunities, and offers leadership development programs and career advice for nurses. Thirdly, the National League for Nursing. This organization offers opportunities for professional development, continuous education and networking (Lanigan, 2020). The three resources will be used in exploring career opportunities, networking with other nurses, getting funding for research activities, and getting opportunities to improve education level. Besides that, the three resources are useful for transitioning between school and practice as they provide advice on how to handle different situations, such as getting loans and scholarships, and employment opportunities that match the advanced education level (Zaccagnini & White, 2017) Part 2: Academic Resources and Strategies.
