Emphasis is placed upon diagnosis and treatment of illness, wellness promotion, critical analysis and application of evidence, and critical decision-making in the care of the aging patient. The safety and functional status of the adult and older adult will be highlighted using screening tools to assess for medical illnesses, mental status, physical status, and environment.
