The four core roles of the APRN are nurse practitioner (NP) clinical nurse specialist (CNS), certified nurse-midwife (CNM) and certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). The NP offers comprehensive care to individuals with complex problems, directly manages medical and nursing care for healthy individuals or those with chronic conditions.
