JC 86-year-old Asian male

Week 2 initial post

Case 1:

In the case of JC who is 86-year-old and totally dependent on the daughter calls for having a cultural and lifestyle understanding of the patient in order to understand the patient. In a report by US Census Bureau, 70% of non-institutionalized older adults live with their families while the other live alone. Being physically and financially dependent, I would ensure I sympathize with the patient, through making him aware I understand his concerns about being a burden to her daughter. Understanding the background of the patient is important as one can identify the areas the patient is sensitive on (Sahin, 2016). I would ask him what the daughter does for living. Knowing what the daughter does for a living can assist in identifying how well the basic and patient needs are met as well as availing drugs for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and ahx hypertension. Understanding the people who the patient interacts with in the environment is important as they can influence the health status of the of the patient considering he has hypertension JC 86-year-old Asian male.

It is important to ask about how long he has been in that condition to identify the intervention that is needed to improve on the outcome. In understanding the lifestyle of the patient, I would ask about dieting to understand the type food they eat and what needs to be recommended as a form of intervention (Elliott, 2016). Environmental safety is an important consideration as most of the patient are affected by the hazards in the environment. Culture affects the patient in many ways. Understanding the patient view on what causes the disease and the ideal health intervention is important in identifying cultural influence on the patient views. During interaction, I would ensure active listening and breaking language barriers as the best approach to a successful health assessment as they ensure the patient is encouraged to speak out the issues he is experiencing for comprehensive health assessment (Williams, 2018) JC 86-year-old Asian male.
