Evaluating the Effectiveness of EBP

Implementing an EBP project will increase the likelihood that student’s health, and performance will improve (VPC, 2017). This is why it is important to monitor the effectiveness of your changes, and whether students involved in the EBP are improving with these changes (VPC, 2017). With progress monitoring on a regular basis to ensure EBP is being implemented as intended, which will improve student outcomes, would be the first steps in understanding if the project made a difference in practice (VPC, 2017). Another way in determining the effectiveness of my change, and whether my EBP made a difference in practice, is to examine the relation between two sets of data, as to the effectiveness of change with whom I am working with (VPC, 2017).
Collecting baseline data and current levels of perception, along with possible barriers at the beginning of the project, will give an estimate of the individuals performance to the interventions, at the end of the project, and whether EBP changes where effective (VPC, 2017). Identify goals for each participant in the EBP project, and plot how they are responding over a period of weeks (VPC, 2017). Some variables used in the comparison can be weight loss, increase in activities, proper diet changes with correct carbohydrate in-take, and even the ability to identify lifestyle changes that would prevent diabetes with culturally appropriate interventions (Ackermann, Liss, Finch, Schmidt, Hays, Marrero, Saha, 2015).
