Describe what a doi is and where and when a doi number can be used.

 

Doi stands for digital object identifiers. It identifies information/sources/articles on digital networks. It begins with a 10 & contain a prefix & a suffix separated by a slash. It is located on the 1st page of the electronic journal article, by the copyright notice. A doi number can be used to locate the article or publication online by clicking the link or entering it in the doi resolver. Pages 188-189

24. Semi colon

Where can you find a description of a semi colon is and how to use it correctly! What is it?

 

It is used to separate two independent clauses not joined by a conjunction. It can also separate element in a series already including commas. Pages 89-90

25. Protection of research participants

Where can you find information about protecting the rights and welfare of research participants? What standards are psychologists held to? What is the most recent publication year of this document?

 

Personal information about participants are to remain confidential. Written consent must be obtained or sensitive aspects of participants are disguised to make them unidentifiable. This is all part of the APA Ethics Code Standard. Psychologists are held to the Standards 8.01-8.09 of the APA Ethics Code. These standards state that psychologists are required to provide accurate information about their research, obtain consent from participants, inform participants of the what the research entails, protecting the participant’s privacy, information, and participant as a whole, not offer any kind of inducement that can coerce the participants participation, avoid deception in research, and provide way for participants to see conclusion of research. The most recent publication year is 2002. Pages 16-18, 233-234
